Wall of Death

Wiev of the inside of the Wall of Death. The 101 Indian was the preferred motorcycle in these dromes.
If starting riding in the Wall of Death, one started at a bicycle to check if the balance was fit to ride in the drome. The advantage with the bicycle was the weight, if they had a crash with a bicycle it wouldn't hurt as much as an motorcycle would, if it landed on top of the rider.

As you can see on the picture (the sleeping bag) the drome was used as sleeping quaters as well.

Preparetions before the show. You can see the back of Hans from Germany. He is going to have a ride in the drome to refress the memories of his yonger days.

Now the start has gone for the first ride in the drome for Hans since 1958. Hans rode the drome in Germany from 1951 to 1958.
Hans' record from that time was 26 shows at one day (from noon to 3.00 pm in the night). He had already arrived at the rally site Friday the week before the rally. He was a great help in all the preparations before the rally. First he helped rise the drome. It has never been done so quickly...!
